The Education Lead role was created to support stronger, more cohesive and interactive relationships with education partners.  As part of the role, the Education leads will build a unique understanding of the local needs of CYP, their families and schools, in order to drive the right support and training.  They work closely with DSPL colleagues and are a key contact for schools and a link with the SLT service.

Education leads support with SLT SENCo planning meetings which are offered twice a year and have an overview of the questions and queries that come through to the dedicated email addresses that schools have access to for further advice and support.

SaLT Clusters

These were set up in August 2021​.  There are 5 clusters within DSPL7​ - see table below.   Each cluster has a dedicated email address to use as the first port of call for advice and support, queries about children on/off caseload, and for the service to provide advice, resources and guidance while children are on the waiting list.​  Emails are manned by 1 therapist and 1 assistant who aim to respond within one week.​
