DSPL SEND LEADS

Elaine Bridle and Laura Hussey

The role of the DSPL7 SEND Lead is to assist all educational settings in the area to provide quality SEND provision.  This could involve visits, observations, solution focussed consultations, staff meeting presentations, attendance at parent coffee mornings etc.  They also organise and run the SENCo forums, small SENCo cluster groups , new to role SENCo group and the TA/LSA network.

POST 16 TRANSITION WORKER

Our Post 16 Transition worker supports students in Y11 with  SEND, but without an EHCP, to find the right pathway after school.   This could include 6th form, T Levels, Level 1 and 2 college courses, Employment or an Apprenticeship.   Schools can refer students who will need additional support to make these next steps.

DSPL7 SEND FAMILY WORKER

Clare Tominey-Smith

Our family engagement worker supports families who may be struggling to manage challenging behaviour at home often related to ASD and ADHD.   Clare works alongside the family workers within St Albans Plus and Harpenden Plus Local School Partnerships. 

Schools can refer to Clare by completing the referral form below and emailing it to referrals@dspl7.org.uk

 

DSPL7 KS3 MALE MENTOR

Mike Rose

Our KS3 mentor supports neurodiverse students in Years 7-9 with with a range of issues. Interventions usually last for half a term and include support for behaviour, attendance, relationships with peers/ staff and engagement with learning.
